We are excited to offer a lineup of wines from Martian Ranch and Vineyard of Los Alamos, California. The winery is inspired by French and Spanish grapes that are not often grown in California, making them a bit “alien” to the landscape. The wines have a European style, a California soul, and an out-of-this world taste!
The grapes are biodynamically grown, in sync with nature both on the ground and in the heavens, and led by proprietor Nan Helegland. The name of the winery comes from a blending of the names of her two sons Martin and Ian.
Eric Asimov of the New York Times writes that Martian offers “…wines that are otherworldly in their calibration and deliciousness — fresh, refreshing, complex and intriguing,” with special praise for Martian’s “lively albariño.” Stop by to sample a selection from Martian Ranch and Vineyard on November 17 and 18.
