Our story

Some people stumble into the wine world. I walked in deliberately and never looked back.

I started getting serious about wine in my early thirties, eventually earning certifications at every level through the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET). But long before that, I grew up watching my mom run a gift shop, spending hours making gift baskets and learning what it means to curate something with care. That early lesson never left me.

In 2013, I opened Still Waters Wine and Gourmet in North Scituate - a small, community-rooted shop very much in the spirit of what you'll find here. I ran it for seven years, and it taught me everything about what makes a neighborhood wine shop worth having. When the opportunity to take over Snug Harbor Wine came along in late 2024, it felt like coming home.

The shop itself has been a beloved part of Duxbury for over a decade, and the team that made it that way is still here. The same passionate, knowledgeable staff who built relationships with this community continue to show up every day, and we all share the same belief: wine is better when you understand the story behind it.

That's what guides everything we carry. Every bottle is here for a reason. We seek out small-production wines from the kind of wineries and vineyards where real people have poured their heart into every vintage. Finding those wines and sharing them with you is what we love to do.

And the setting doesn't hurt either. Snug Harbor Wine sits in the iconic Sweetser's Building on Washington Street, tucked between French Memories Bakery and Snug Harbor Fish Company, steps from Duxbury Bay. It's warm, it's welcoming, and it's exactly the kind of place I've always wanted to be part of. As a Marshfield resident, being rooted in this coastal community means everything to me.
